How many gallons of paint do I need?

Enter the area you're painting and the number of coats. We use 350 sq ft per gallon (the most common coverage rate) and round up — because paint stores don't sell partial gallons.

For walls: (perimeter × height) − doors and windows.

Most repaints need 2. New drywall or color changes may need 3.

Default 350. Premium paints can hit 400; textured surfaces drop to 250.
